Old Town San Diego

Here's Scott checking out San Diego's first commercial theatre inside The Whaley House - which according to The Travel Channel is the most haunted house in America.

We walked through the El Campo Santo Catholic Cemetery in Old Town San Diego. One of the ghosts that haunts The Whaley House is supposed to be buried here. His name is Yankee Jim and he was hung on a gallow located where the Whaley House was built.

Chilling on the Patio

Playing Phase 10 Dice by the firepit. Fred and Dawn schooled Scott three games straight.

Dad's Trip to San Diego

Didn't find a dang thing metal detecting at Carlsbad Beach...

Big Mountain

Our one and only ski trip this year was at Big Mountain when we were in Kalisbell. We stayed at the Kahndahar Cabin up on the mountain.

Orfila Winery

I took the afternoon off work on Tuesday to hang out with dad. We took a beautiful drive through Pauma Valley and Valley Center. We stopped at the Pala Casino where dad won $100 off The Munsters slot machine, then headed to Escondido to tour Orfila Winery.

There aren't any grapes on the vines yet, but we saw a few little tiny bundles budding. Dad said he's going to come back for the grape stomp. Notice the pretty mountains in the background! there are also some million dollar homes hiding up there!

The winery has flags of all the states hanging and when we asked where North Dakota's flag was, the girl behind the counter said, "Are you from ND?" We of course said yes and found out that she was from Fargo and had just moved out 8 months ago. After a bit more discussion, it turns out that she attended MSU the same time as I did, AND her step-family lives in Milnor - a whole ten miles away from Gwinner. I actually used to party and hang out with her step-brother Chris Gruba! Small world indeed.

Surf's Up

Scott's been in the water catching waves every chance he gets. Dawn often gets in too, but the water temp is still a bit chilly for her. Bring on the summer surf!
